    Chandra Slocum joined Erie's Public Schools in 2005. Since then, she has held several positions, including assistant principal at Woodrow Wilson Middle School and East Middle School. She is currently the supervisor of alternative programs and liaison for homeless students.     

    Slocum's aim is to remove barriers to education for all students, a challenge she approaches with a guiding quote from Frederick Douglass: "It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men."
