    2025-2026 School Year Transportation Information

     

    Elementary and Middle School

    All qualifying EPS students in kindergarten through 8th grade will be transported by Erie's Public Schools yellow bus. To qualify for district provided transportation, elementary pupils must reside in the City of Erie and live one and a half (1.5) miles or more from the school in which the pupils are enrolled. The district will utilize Google Maps, using the walking distance from home to school, to determine mileage eligibility.

    • Bus route information will be published on the district's transportation website, eriesd.org/transportation, as soon as routes are finalized. Please check the site regularly throughout the month of August.
    • Please contact your home school's office or our district's Transportation Department at (814) 874-6900 if more information is needed.

    IMPORTANT NOTE: If you registered your child for bus transportation or a bus pass for last school year AND your child has not changed their home address OR school, you DO NOT need to register again for the 2025-2026 school year. If your child has changed their home address OR school, you DO need to register again using the form linked above. 

    High School

    • All qualifying EPS high school students will be transported to and from school via EMTA buses. To qualify for a district bus pass, high school pupils must reside in the City of Erie and live two miles (2.0) or more from the school in which the pupils are enrolled. The district will utilize Google Maps, using the walking distance from home to school, to determine mileage eligibility.
    • Students must register by filling out this form: tinyurl.com/EPSbus
    • All high school students must have a district-issued bus pass to ride an EMTA bus to and from school. SAll high school students must have a bus pass by Monday, September 15, 2025 in order to ride an EMTA bus to and from school.
    • High school students will utilize fixed routes available through the EMTA website. Students are encouraged to download the myStop Mobile app to plan routes and access schedule information.  
    • If a bus is at full capacity, the bus may leave a stop without all students being loaded or may bypass a stop; however, additional buses will be dispatched to handle the additional students.
    • Please contact your home school's office or our district's Transportation Department at (814) 874-6900 if more information is needed.

    Non-Public/Private School

    All qualifying Non-Public/Private school students will be transported to and from school via Erie School District yellow bus or EMTA.  Please consult with your school for more information.  To qualify for a district bus pass, students in grades K-8 must reside in the City of Erie and live one and a half (1.5) miles or more from the school in which the pupil(s) are enrolled. Students in grades 9-12 must reside in the City of Erie and live two (2.0) miles or more from the school in which the pupil(s) are enrolled.  The district will utilize Google Maps, using the walking distance from home to school, to determine mileage eligibility.

    • Students must register by filling out this form: tinyurl.com/EPSbus
    • If eligible, stop information will be communicated to the family via the on-line registration system and a final roster will be sent to the school upon completion.
