Harold C. Shields
Harold Shields is a man of firsts: An Edinboro University of Pennsylvania graduate, Shields was the first African American to serve as president
of the Erie School Board, in 1980 (he served on the board from 1978 to 1981). He was also the first to anchor local television news, appearing on Erie's NBC affiliate.Shields has been a member of the Edinboro University Council of Trustees since 1997 and has served two terms as chairperson, according to an online biography. He is also a member of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education Board of Governors, president of the Pennsylvania Association of Councils of Trustees, and a past member of both the Edinboro University Foundation Board of Directors and the Edinboro University Alumni Association Board of Directors. He is principal in Harold C. Shields HR Consulting LLC.
