    • Chromebooks

       
       
      1. Who needs to return Chromebooks and Internet hotspots?
       
      a. Seniors need to return any Chromebook, laptop, or Internet hotspot that was loaned to them. Returns should be made to their home school main office. Call the school prior to showing up to make sure there will be somebody in the office to collect your device.
       
      b. Any student who is not returning to Erie’s Public Schools in the fall should return their Chromebook, laptop, or Internet hotspot to their home school main office. Call the school prior to showing up to make sure there will be somebody in the office to collect your device.
       
      c. Any family that does not want to be responsible for district technology items over the summer months should return their Chromebook, laptop, or Internet hotspot to their home school main office. Call the school prior to showing up to make sure there will be somebody in the office to collect your device.
       
      2. What if the Chromebook I borrowed is broken?
       
      a. As a condition of receiving a Chromebook, you agreed to be responsible for damages to the borrowed technology.
       
      b. The IT Department will collect all technology items returned to school offices. Technicians will perform a clean and check, then reconcile the inventory on all equipment that is returned. Damaged equipment will be repaired or replaced. Families will be notified if they have an obligation after the clean and check of devices.
       
       
      3. What if I want my child to be able to use the device over the summer months?
       
      District technology items are intended to be used for educational purposes. If your child is returning to Erie’s Public Schools in the fall and wishes to use the borrowed technology to stay engaged in educational activities they may continue to use the device assigned to them throughout the summer.

      Dear Parents, Guardians and Students:

      Welcome to East Middle School – Home of the Warriors! It is my pleasure to personally welcome you to one of the best schools in the area.

      Long known for its tradition of cultural diversity, East Middle School has approximately 800 students in grades 6-8. 

      As part of our vision we hope to prepare students to be life-long learners and good citizens in a culture of shared responsibility. We must prepare students for the 21st century. Our world has changed and is constantly evolving. Our primary responsibility is student learning and offering all students the educational opportunities that will maximize their potential in this changing world. Today’s world demands that each individual can think critically, create and communicate in a technology driven society. East Middle School is committed to the use of technology in the process of teaching our students critical thinking skills to prepare them for today and tomorrow.

      I am proud of the success of our students and the achievements of East Middle School. I know that one of our greatest strengths is the pride and support that we have received in the community.  I encourage you to contact me with your ideas, suggestions and concerns. I welcome your involvement as we work to provide the best possible education to the students of the East Middle School community.

We will actively engage students and faculty in their learning through a high quality curriculum and researched based strategies. We are committed to provide each student with a well-rounded educational program.

    2022-23 Goals

    • Dress Code

      We will be focusing on students following the district's dress code as we have in years past.  We will continue to be checking every day to make sure that students are dressed according to the district's dress code policy. Students may be sent home to change and/or be assigned an appropriate consequence. For clarification on the dress code please click on the following link.  6-12 Dress Code

       

      Be On Time

      We expect students to arrive at school in the morning early enough to get to their lockers and be in homeroom by 8:40. We also expect students to move between classes quickly and be in their next class before the bell rings.  We will be providing incentives for students who can follow this expectation. 

       

      Electronics

      Cell phones and other electronic devices need to be used only at approved times.  Students are permitted to use them during their lunch period.  During the rest of the day these devices need to be secured in the student's lockers.
