2010: Signs of Change
This year more than 30 speakers presented programs to classroom-size groups of students about local environmental issues. At the opening presentation in the auditorium, the Collegiate Green Team showed a video about the installation of the solar panels and discussed the CTE Project – Conservation Through Education. Collegiate students travel to elementary and middle schools within the Erie School District to teach them how to perform energy audits.
In addition to classroom speakers, the “Signs of Change” program also hosted three panel discussions: “Human Health Issues”, “Air Quality Concerns”, and “Erie City Ordinances and Regulations for Sustainable Projects”.
Students had an opportunity to learn about our local area, interact with professionals, and make career connections.
