Jefferson Garden
The Jefferson School Garden was planted in the spring of 2014 by four third-grade classes. The students started tomato, eggplant and pepper seeds in their classrooms and moved the plants outside in May. Each class planted two raised beds. During the spring and summer seasons, the garden grew and produced many vegetables such as beets, carrots and beans. Families volunteered to care for the garden through the summer months. Harvesting will continue as students return to school in the fall, and the garden will be prepared for winter so it can planted again in the spring.
