Hello, My name is First Sergeant Jason DeKaye.  I am the Army Instructor for the Erie High JROTC program.  I would like to take this time to say welcome to the 2025-2026 school year.

JROTC is a program led by retired military personnel.  Our purpose is to help students reach their full potential.  The JROTC mission is to help young people become better citizens.  We accomplish this by teaching responsibility, discipline, planning, leadership and ethics.

JROTC is sponsored by the military, but we do not recruit for the military.  We do issue uniforms, and they will be required to wear them once a week.  Wearing a uniform brings a sense of pride in our students.  It teaches attention to detail and self-discipline.
