Welcome to Harding Elementary School! If we haven’t already met, my name is Mrs. Kathleen Farnham, and I am proud to be the principal of Harding School. Harding is a very special place to attend and work. Many of our faculty and staff have been here for many years and that is a true testament that they love Harding School and the families that send their children here. I am a firm believer that when teachers, staff, parents, and students work together, the results can be amazing.
In a world where it is sometimes difficult to get parents to connect with their child’s school, Harding has a very strong PTO that is supportive in every way, treating all of Harding’s students as if they were their own. Our teachers are just as supportive. Harding teachers go above and beyond to ensure that each and every one of their students is reaching their potential in the classroom and that their emotional needs are being met as well. For our teachers, this is a vocation, not just a job. I am proud to call them colleagues. Our support staff, from the teacher assistants to the custodians, is equally diligent and hard-working. The Harding faculty and staff are truly second to none.As for me, I love working at Harding! My career with Erie’s Public Schools is entering its 30th year. For me, that is almost impossible to believe. I come from a long line of teachers in my family. A long time ago, I was a first year teacher at Emerson-Gridley teaching 3rd grade. Since then, I have taught at Perry, Edison, McKinley, and Diehl Schools. I was the assistant principal at Perry School prior to working at Harding. Being a principal was always a goal of mine, and I am thrilled to have attained it. I consider it a blessing to work with such fine people.
Please contact me directly if you would like to discuss any concerns. I’m here to support you and your children in whatever way I can.
