Hello Everyone!
I hope that you all are staying home, being safe, and staying healthy!
I miss all of my students so much! Please tell them that I said hi and that I miss them!
I wanted to send an update as of today, Thursday, 3/26/20, to remind the students to be working on their Amplify Reading and i-ready Math online proagrams. This will help the students to keep their minds active and help them to be ready to get back into the swing of things when we return.
I am adding a page called "Tricky Words". This page will have all of the "Tricky Words" that your students have learned so far this school year. You can review these "Tricky Words" by 1.)saying them, 2.)spelling them, 3.)making a memory/matching game on index cards or square pieces of paper, 4.) writing sentences using beginning capitalization and ending puctuation. The students and I practice these words everyday as part of our Skills Strand.
Finally, I am going to add another website to our resource page called abc.ya. It has several great reading, math, and other various activies that the students will enjoy. They will be learning and having fun at the same time!
If you need anything, please so not hesitate to send me an email. I will get back to you as soon as I can.
We are all in this together!
Take care !
Mrs. Brennan

Hello everyone!
I am going to list some websites that you can visit when your student is not working on Amplify Reading or iready Math.
There is a website called Scholastic Learn at Home that provides 20 days worth of learning journeys that span all of the content areas and will keep your student actively engaged. The Scholastic Learn at Home website does not require a username or password. The learning journeys are accessible on any device.
The link is: www.scholastic.com/learnathome. I accessed this website and it looked wonderful! I hope that you are able to take a look at it.
Another website for the artist in your home or just for fun has Mo Willems, the author of "Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus" and the "Elephant and Piggie" books, does an art lesson everyday at 1:00 p.m. called "Lunch Doodles with Mo Willems". You can google it or find it on youtube. My daughter and I participated in the first 2 episodes and we had a great time learning how to draw the various characters. I am sure that you will too!
I encourage your student to be working on their Amplify Reading program for 20 minutes each day for 2 days of the week. We would work on Amplify Reading on Mondays and Wednesdays at school. I encourage your student to be working on their iready Math program for 20 minutes each day for 2 days of the week. We would work on iready Math on Tuesdays and Thursdays at school. Then, Friday was "Fun Friday". The students enjoyed going to pbskids.org and playing the games and participating in the various activities.
I hope that you find this infornmation helpful. Please tell your student that I said hello and that I miss them very much! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. We are all in this together and I am here to help you.
Take care, stay safe, and stay healthy!
