Community Service Focus
Perry's focus is on community service. There are many benefits to community service for students like:
*increase students' personal, interpersonal and social development
*increase motivation, student engagement, and school attendance
*lead to new perspectives and more "positive lifestyle choices and behavior.
Students are regularly engaged in some form of service throughout the year. At the beginning of the year, each grade level chooses a charity or group that they will assist in some way. Some examples are Erie Homes for Children and Adults, A.N.N.A Shelter and the Second Harvest Food Bank. Community service acts throughout the year have included food collections, dress down days, item collections, food sales, and helping in the community.
