In partnership with the Feeding Minds & Families program, Gannon University, and various local businesses and non-profits, Wilson offers an afterschool STEM program free of charge to all students. Each week, different presenters introduce students to different areas of science, technology and engineering with lots of hands-on projects and cool demos. At the end of each meeting, dinner is provided for all volunteers, student participants, and their families. This is a chance for parents to meet each other, to meet the teachers, and to meet community volunteers and STEM professionals from the region in a friendly, fun, relaxed environment.
Previous STEM club topics have included space exploration, biomimicry, 3D printing and coding, and using forensic science to catch a killer!
