Lincoln Elementary School is a neighborhood public school located in Southeast Erie, Pennsylvania. We currently have approximately 500 students enrolled in Pre-Kindergarten-Fifth Grade. The children and families in our school community are a diverse cross section of many different cultures, ethnic groups, and languages. Forty-three percent of our students are minorities. Lincoln Elementary is one of the schools in the Erie School District that has a full-time English as a Second Language Program. We educate children from eleven different countries that speak fifteen different languages.
Lincoln Elementary School has twenty-eight dedicated and experienced classroom teachers, six special education teachers, and three Title I teachers who provide special help in Reading and Math. We are also one of five elementary schools in the district that have Emotional Support classrooms. In addition we have a guidance counselor, speech therapist, nurse and a behavior specialist to assist our students with various needs.
Lincoln Elementary School is a community of educators and learners committed to achievement, citizenship, and excellence. We focus on caring and respect for ourselves, and others, striving for academic success, and pursuing educational and personal development. Our vision is to create a positive learning environment to educate all students effectively. Each student is expected to achieve at a high level of academic performance, function effectively in the community, and contribute to the broader society.
Academically, Lincoln was awarded the Academic Achievement Award from the Pennsylvania Department of Education in 2005 for continuous success on the Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA). Our achievements can be attributed to the high standards set by our faculty and the hard work of our students. The administration, faculty, staff, and student body is proud of our schools’ past achievements and we will continue to strive to carry on the successful tradition of the Lincoln Lions.
